Mukuru Shujaa is a community-based organization in Mukuru kwa Njenga, Nairobi, dedicated to empowering children and youth through sports for development, quality education support, mentorship, and community outreach. Our vision is a world where every child can play, learn, and lead a fulfilling life.
Play: We engage children in structured sports, especially football, to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing.
Learn: We support education through school supplies, academic encouragement, digital literacy, life skills training, and exposure learning visits.
Lead: We mentor young people to become heroes, leaders, and role models who positively influence their communities.
Children and youth living in underserved communities, particularly in Mukuru. We work with boys and girls in primary and secondary school, and young adults transitioning into careers, focusing on those facing barriers to education and wellbeing.
We maintain strict child protection and safeguarding policies, conduct volunteer and mentor training, verify documents, supervise engagements, and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse or exploitation.
At Mukuru Shujaa we believe that access to quality education enables children to realize their full potential, as a result we give children a chance to play, learn and thrive through social emotional learning integrated into sports and civic education.
One day, all children will have a chance to experience a positive childhood.
